Products Specifications

MIO intermediate epoxy paint is produced and supplied as an intermediate layer or primer based on epoxy resin and polyamide hardener, which is enriched with magnesium oxide. This paint has a good resistance to moisture, water, alkaline and acidic environments, but for full protection, it needs a middle cover and a top according to the environmental conditions.

Some of the unique features of this product include : Good resistance to corrosive factors due to the use of epoxy resin and polyamide hardener for severe weather conditions and industrial environments | High corrosion resistance due to the prevention of MIO sheet pigment from the rapid penetration of moisture and corrosive agents into the underlying layer | Suitable resistance to wear factors and mechanical impact due to the use of mica iron oxide (MIO) | Ability to run in high thicknesses and create suitable thickness for high thickness systems Good adhesion to the bottom layer.

Application

This Paint is used as an intermediate color very suitable for metal structures such as bridges, industrial sheds, pipelines and transmission lines, tanks, submerged equipment in fresh water, as well as all metal structures in coastal and OFF SHORE areas.

How to use

Surface preparation : The minimum degree of surface cleanliness required is based on the Swedish standard ISO 8501-1, SA 2½ or SA3. Also, the minimum surface profile (roughness) is 40 microns.

If used as an intermediate color, the desired surface must be free of any contamination such as dust, grease, oil, etc. If more than 72 hours have passed since the primer was applied, you should roughen the desired surface after cleaning.
Equipment needed to apply MIOepoxy intermediate paint :

  • AIR LESS SPRAY device
  • CONVENTIONAL SPRAY device (air spray)
  • Electric or air mixer
  • brush and roller

When using AIRLESS SPRAY, a 0.017 or 0.019 inch nozzle should be used, and when using CONVENTIONAL SPRAY, a 2 or 2.2 mm nozzle should be used.

How to use : First, mix the two components separately and then add the hardener (component B) to the color (component A) according to the mixing percentage mentioned on the label and mix until it is completely uniform. After 5 minutes, according to the type of spraying, add the thinner to it. and stir it until it is uniform and ready to use. According to the shelf life, after mixing, you should mix the amount of color that can be consumed in this period of time. The ambient temperature for coloring should be between 10-40 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the surface during painting should be at least 3 degrees Celsius above the dew point and the air humidity should be at most 80%, and the surface should be free of ice and moisture.

Packing

Romolo ionized intermediate epoxy paint MIO is produced and supplied in 20kg buckets.
